Dioney Gonzalez

Dioney Gonzalez is a 35 year old opera singer from Cuba that from a very young age felt driven to develop his love for art. His passion for classical music led him to study lyrical singing and to become a professional singer. In Dioney’s journey as an artist he has had the opportunity to learn directly from great figures of the Cuban lyrical scene such as Edilio Hernandez, Maria Eugenia Barrios, Ramon Chavez, Ulises Aquino among others. 

He was a member of the Opera de la Calle company and the National Lyric Theatre. He has also performed in galas that paid tribute to celebrities such as Rosita Flores among others. 

Dioney’s extensive performance credits include a wide array of operas, concerts, recitals and musicals. Among the highlights are Carmen by George Bizet; Carmina Burana by Carl Orff; Requiem by Mozart; Fidelio by Beethoven, Alfredo Germont in La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi; Scarpia in Tosca by Puccini. 

His parents have been and continue to be the driving force to continue trying to succeed in this profession. Dioney’s current objective is to be able to continue growing in this nation that, in addition to giving him the opportunity to be free, has opened the doors to this phenomenon that is Hartford’s Got Talent!
